Dear Sophisticated Ladies
As the summer draws to a close, and the autumn peeps tentatively from behind the net curtains, the Contemporary Spinster invites you to the September Salon. My guest will be the Irish Ceramicist Claire Curneen. Based in Wales Claire is often associated with figurative work in fine porcelain; exquisite creations with a hint of humour and decorative gold embellishment. This piece entitled ‘Urchin’ from a recent exhibition is one I am still trying to justify purchasing – surely it would be a perfect addition to a stylish bathroom!
Claire has a wicked sense of humour and a comfortable confidence that comes with a strong track record reinforced by the critical acclaim she has received. With no hint of irony she is a talented funny lady and a perfect guest for a Victorious Endeavours Salon. For more information about Claire Curneen visit her website at http://www.clairecurneen.com/

The next two Salons are on the 24th October with Local Councillor and Deputy Director of the Institute of Welsh Affairs Kirsty Davies and the 22nd November with visual artist Sue Williams. This autumn the Salons seek to explore issues of a more political nature designed to feed our intellectual curiosity from a sophisticated perspective!
